Our client is an international bank, located in Amsterdam. This bank provides professional investors (e.g. professional traders, market makers, brokers and investment organizations) access to the financial markets and enables these clients to trade in financial products. Next to that, the bank supports these investors with complying with laws and regulations.
The team that you will work in consists of 12 professional team members. This dynamic department is responsible for the daily settlement of exposures of professional investors, as well as supporting short selling traders with their settlement compliance obligations. The exposures arise from trading activities from the bank’s clients. More specifically, exposures arise when the bank lends and borrows positions at external parties to facilitate the short positions of clients. As Junior Banking Professional you are responsible for hedging these exposures. You are in charge of different financial products and currencies and ensure a balance in the profit and loss statement. Within the bank, you are in frequent contact with departments such as Securities, Finance and Operations. You also participate in projects to improve processes, data quality, or the analysis of claims- and cost reduction to improve the service. Lastly, you actively maintain relationships with external parties such as Central Counter Parties (CCPs).
To be successful as a Junior Financial Markets Professional you are or have:
- A Master degree in Economics, Business Economics, Business Administration or similar;
- Excellent numeric and analytical skills;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel;
- Knowledge of automation is a plus;
- Accurate, precise, and stress resistant;
- Excellent in English, both spoken and written.
As Junior Financial Markets Professional you will work at a great location in Amsterdam. In this position, you will learn a lot about financial instruments and short selling. You will also gain experience with communicating with professional traders and you will learn to understand their business. Moreover, you will broaden your network at different departments such as relationship managers and within the front office of the bank. You are responsible for your own client portfolio in a very dynamic, international work environment with (young) professional colleagues. Additionally, you will gain insights into banking processes and systems of a leading player in the field. We offer you a one year contract with the option for an indefinite contract in the future.
