We are looking for a Junior Risk Analyst for an international bank in Amsterdam. In this role, you will work at the intersection of internal control, data analysis and operational risk. You will help improve the organisation’s internal control framework, assess the effectiveness of controls and contribute to reliable risk reporting. This position is particularly suitable for recent graduates or young professionals with an accounting background who are looking to develop their career within the financial sector.<\/p><\/div>\n\r\n\r\n

Organization<\/h4>\n

You will join an entrepreneurial international bank where innovation, collaboration and personal development are at the heart of the organisation. Within the Risk, Legal & Compliance department, you will work alongside more than 80 professionals who are responsible for managing both financial and non-financial risks.<\/p>

The Operational Risk Management team plays a key role in strengthening the organisation’s internal control environment. From day one, you will be given significant responsibility, work closely with colleagues across different departments and gain a broad understanding of the bank’s operations. By combining data, processes, controls and risk management, you will quickly build valuable knowledge of the banking industry.<\/p><\/div>\n\r\n

Function<\/h4>\n

As a Junior Risk Analyst, you will support the team in identifying, analysing and managing operational risks. You will assess the quality and effectiveness of internal controls, analyse risks and contribute to reliable risk reporting. In doing so, you will make extensive use of data analysis, Power BI and modern AI applications.<\/p>

You will work closely with colleagues across different departments and support initiatives to improve processes, data quality and the internal control environment. As you gain experience, you will gradually develop into a trusted advisor within the Operational Risk Management team.<\/p>

Your responsibilities include:<\/p>

  • Supporting the periodic Operational Risk reporting process;<\/li>
  • Developing and improving Power BI dashboards;<\/li>
  • Ensuring data quality within the GRC system;<\/li>
  • Performing and reviewing control effectiveness testing;<\/li>
  • Analysing operational incidents and conducting root cause analyses;<\/li>
  • Preparing and monitoring improvement plans following identified risks and incidents;<\/li>
  • Maintaining and improving risk policies and procedures;<\/li>
  • Identifying opportunities to improve internal controls, processes and data quality;<\/li>
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across different departments within the bank.<\/li> <\/ul><\/div>\n\r\n

    Requirements<\/h4>\n

    What do you bring?<\/p>

    • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, Business Administration, Economics or a related field;<\/li>
    • An interest in internal control, auditing, operational risk or compliance;<\/li>
    • Experience with Power BI or a strong willingness to develop these skills;<\/li>
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;<\/li>
    • An interest in process improvement, data analysis and AI applications;<\/li>
    • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English;<\/li>
    • A proactive, eager-to-learn and solution-oriented mindset;<\/li>
    • Previous experience in banking or risk management is not required;<\/li>
    • Recent graduates and candidates with internship or graduation experience in accounting, auditing or finance are encouraged to apply.<\/li> <\/ul><\/div>\n\r\n
