Our client is an international financial institution with headquarters in The Hague and offices across multiple European cities. They provide innovative financial solutions to businesses, investors, and financial institutions. The organization is currently undergoing a digital transformation, where data-driven decision-making and process optimization are key priorities.

 

Function

As a Junior Data & Finance Professional, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial data landscape. You will act as the right-hand and strategic sparring partner of the Head of Finance, assisting in optimizing data processes within the entire Finance department. You will ensure that data flows are structured, reliable, and aligned with reporting requirements, while closely collaborating with Finance, data specialists, and IT.

This role offers high visibility and exposure across multiple departments, including Finance, Financial & Regulatory Reporting, Tax, and Product Control. You will not only bridge the gap between Finance and Data but also collaborate with innovative data professionals to improve and automate processes.

Your responsibilities:

  • Strategic support as the right hand of the Head of Finance, assisting in data-driven process optimization and efficient financial data flows;
  • Bridge between Finance and Data, translating business needs into clear data definitions, structures, and reporting frameworks;
  • Identifying and resolving data bottlenecks in collaboration with IT and data teams to optimize financial data quality;
  • Stakeholder management, working closely with senior management and internal teams to implement effective data solutions;
  • Monitoring regulations and compliance, ensuring proper implementation within financial processes;
  • Taking ownership by driving continuous process improvements, solving challenges, and implementing innovative data solutions.

 

Requirements

To succeed as a Junior Data & Finance Professional, you should have:

  • A MSc in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex data and financial processes;
  • A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for solving problems and optimizing workflows;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both data/IT teams and finance professionals;
  • SQL knowledge is a plus, but not required;
  • A willingness to develop expertise in data governance, reporting, and financial regulations.
