Organization
Our client is an international bank active in banking, asset management, leasing, insurance, and real estate. You will join a core department at the heart of the bank. The team oversees the bank’s balance sheet and supports its financial strategy. This offers opportunities to gain valuable insights into key financial processes within an ever-changing environment in a global bank.
Function
As a Junior Risk Manager, you will work with the QRM (Quantitative Risk Management) system to help manage the bank’s balance sheet and interest rate risk. You will deliver financial forecasts, analyze balance sheet developments, and optimize the QRM system to ensure accuracy and reliability.
This role combines financial analysis, system optimization, and teamwork. Acting as the link between IT and finance, you will translate financial needs into system requirements and contribute to process improvements. Results will be shared with key stakeholders, including Treasury, Finance, Risk teams, decision-making teams, and external regulators.
Your tasks include e.g.:
- Producing monthly forecasts on interest income to support strategic decision-making;
- Conducting stress tests by simulating different interest rate scenarios;
- Presenting results and insights to stakeholders;
- Contributing to QRM system improvements and ensuring accurate calculations.
Requirements
To be a successful Junior Risk Manager, you have or are:
- MSc in (Quantitative) Finance, Financial Economics, Econometrics, or similar;
- Knowledge of financial market products and an interest in balance sheet dynamics;
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills;
- Affinity for translating financial needs into system requirements;
- Proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable with taking ownership;
- Strong communication skills and a team player;
- Able to work with large datasets and familiar with software tools such as SQL;
- Fluent in English.
