Organization

Our client is a leading global bank in Financial Markets services. They provide professional investors (including professional traders, market makers, brokers, and investment parties) access to financial markets around the world and make it possible for these clients to trade in financial products. These investors are further supported in complying with laws and regulations.


Function

The dynamic department you will be working for is responsible for supporting professional short-selling traders in managing their securities positions and facilitating securities borrowing and lending activities. Within this bank, you will collaborate with departments such as Settlements and Corporate Actions. You will work closely together with these departments to achieve the most efficient handling of settlement obligations within your portfolio on a daily basis.

  • You are responsible for the daily management and monitoring of “overdue” settlements resulting from trading activities;
  • You evaluate within your own portfolio how to most efficiently cover traders’ short positions;
  • You are the primary point of contact for professional traders and your colleagues (including the Settlements and Corporate Actions teams);
  • You inform traders about (reducing) their securities positions;
  • You closely collaborate with the Securities Finance desk to potentially borrow external shares in order to meet settlement obligations;
  • You monitor risks that may lead to tax losses, penalties, or buy-ins;
  • You participate in projects focused on enhancing processes and data quality, as well as conducting analyses to reduce claims and costs or enhance service quality.


Requirements

To be successful as a Junior Finance & Securities Analyst, you are or have:

  • An MSc in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or similar;
  • Affinity with financial markets;
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills;
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel;
  • Accurate and stress-resistant;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, both written and verbal;


Offer

As a Junior Finance & Securities Analyst, you will work at a prime location in Amsterdam. It is a workplace where you will learn a lot about financial instruments and short selling. You will gain extensive experience in communicating with professional traders and understanding their business. Additionally, you will establish contacts with various departments, relationship managers, and the bank’s front office. You will be responsible for your own client portfolio in a highly dynamic, international work environment alongside (young) professional colleagues. Moreover, you will gain a broad insight into bank processes and systems from a leading player in the market.

We offer you a one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent contract. Furthermore, you will receive a competitive salary and excellent secondary benefits.
